Online Safety
Parents, are your children safe when they are in the cyber world? Have you talked to them about netiquette, predators, scams, and phishing? Cyber crimes are prevalent and can be avoided by educating users about online safety. Sixth graders across the district are taught about online safety in their computer class. But if you have children who spend time online, you should be talking to them about online safety as well! The FBI has a great resource for parents and students to learn or refresh their memories on online safety. The content here is in a game format so children will enjoy learning. Their website is https://sos.fbi.gov - click on Students to go through the lessons. For more information about the kinds of things parents need to discuss with their children about online safety, please see the attached document A Parent's Guide to Internet Safety.
